when I walked past those two
I heard the girl sniffing
liquid back into her nose
I only heard him say that one thing
like he was demanding it
or at least
demanding this not to happen again
he is not a butler
I imagine him helping me get onto his boat
with a long railing on the steps
but I am in the parking garage
I get into the car
I only have myself to mistreat

You can mistreat the owners car , then its wheel might fall apart. You may harm people in your mind, and the damage can be rewined.
